Electric Arc Furnace Slag

Electric Arc Furnace slag (EAF slag) can substitute natural aggregates in asphalt and concrete mixes.
It is a by-product that has been used for decades in Europe, USA and Japan in construction due to its unique physical and mechanical properties.
EBM Qatar (EBMQ) specializes in optimizing the use of EAF slag offering complete services which include the following:

Processing of EAF slag

Quality Control

Technical Description

EBMQ produces four sizes of graded EAF slag. EBMQ’s products can be delivered raw or blended with natural aggregates according to each clients’ needs. 0-5mm, 5-10 mm, 10-20mm, 20-28mm

EBMQ continually tests and pursues certification of its products according to the following local and international standards: QCS 2010, EN 12620, EN 13043, STUK GUIDE ST 12.2

Advantages of asphalt with EAF slag

Strength and Durability (High stability, Indirect tensile strength, High ability to retain the binder)

Increased skid resistance

Improved resistance to rujng

Advantages of concrete with EAF slag

Increased compressive strength

Used for high dense concrete

Higher abrasion resistance
